Microsoft Highlights New Windows 11 24H2 Bug Preventing Security Updates:-

Microsoft has identified a critical issue in the Windows 11 24H2 update that prevents users from installing security updates. To address the problem, Microsoft advises reinstalling Windows 11 24H2 using the latest December 2024 security patch.

The Windows 11 24H2 update introduced several new features to the popular operating system but has been plagued by bugs. Recently, Microsoft updated its Windows 11 24H2 known issues page, cautioning users against installing versions of Windows 11 that include security updates released between October 8 and November 12, 2024. Such installations could block future security updates.

According to Microsoft, the issue arises only when installation media—such as a USB or CD—includes the October or November 2024 security updates. This problem primarily affects IT professionals or tech enthusiasts who rely on such media for setting up business PCs or personal machines.

The company recommends rewriting the installation media with the December 2024 security patch and reinstalling Windows 11 to resolve the issue. While Microsoft confirmed they are working on a solution, no timeline has been provided for a permanent fix.

The Windows 11 24H2 update, released earlier this year, has also faced other bugs, including audio glitches on Dirac devices, issues with Outlook launching when using outdated Google Workspace sync, Auto HDR causing game freezes and color issues, and problems with Ubisoft games like Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Users experiencing these issues are advised to keep their systems updated with the latest patches as Microsoft continues to address these challenges.
