Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE) is a mod for Stardew Valley that adds many new items, festival events, and locations. You can find this on both ModDrop and Nexus Mods.
The SVE Wiki can provide players with valuable background information regarding game mechanics. However, its use as an aid or cheating depends on personal opinion and intention.
Farming
Players select their character's Appearance, Gender, Farm Name and Favorite Thing on the Character Creation screen, each of which affects certain aspects of gameplay such as in-game marriage options. Farming experience is gained by planting crops, watering them regularly and harvesting them after they've been watered; petting and shearing animals; petting other players' pets and reading Stardew Valley Almanac/Book Of Stars also grant some level of experience for farming activities.
Reading the wiki does not automatically constitute cheating; rather, understanding game mechanics helps reduce frustration and enable intentional decisions.
Mining
Mining is a key economic activity in Stardew Valley, producing metals and minerals used for crafting, cooking, gifting and quests. Mining skill can be gained by breaking rocks either using the Pickaxe or Bombs; doing this increases levels of each rock type while giving experience for Mining skill. Reading Almanacs or Books of Stars also confer Mining experience which in turn increases Pickaxe proficiency; whether this counts as cheating depends upon each player's goals and playstyle.
Foraging
Foraging is the art of collecting natural resources from your environment - this includes picking berries, flowers and other plants found on the ground as well as cutting down trees with an axe. You'll even gain experience points if you catch coastal creatures through foraging!
Players have several foraging professions at their disposal: Botanist increases sale prices for items collected; Forester makes cutting down trees easier in your farm, and Tracker shows arrows at the edges of the screen that indicate where forageables may be found. https://stardew.wiki/ provides information about hidden mechanics, such as item spawning rules and NPC schedules; whether this constitutes "cheating" is up to each player.
Fishing
Fishing may initially seem daunting, but once mastered it becomes one of Stardew Valley's most fulfilling activities. You'll gain a steady source of income while simultaneously becoming skilled enough to catch more expensive species that sell for higher prices.
Unlocking cooking recipes and profession upgrades - such as Crab Pot and Dish O' The Sea crafting recipes and the ability to build a fishing pond - also unlocks cooking recipes and profession improvements, such as unlocking cooking recipes for Crab Pot and Dish O' The Sea crafting and creating treasure chests or gift boxes when catching certain species of fish.
Fishing is also a wonderful way to relax while taking in the peaceful sights and sounds of rivers or oceans as you await your catch.
Crafting
Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-life RPG that allows the player to achieve goals nonlinearly. The game begins when a player inherits their deceased grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley's cozy village setting and offers many activities like farming, fishing, mining, foraging, crafting, cooking and gift giving to explore as well as quests that need completing as well as donating money and time towards restoring the Community Center and Museum.

Every day, talking to villager earns you friendship points. Once your relationships reach the full friendship stage, they'll send cooking recipes or grant access to their bedrooms; as well as provide unique dialogue.
Players can deepen friendships among villagers by attending festivals and giving gifts at the Night Market. Although liked gifts don't earn as many points in return as desired ones, any disliked gift decreases friendship by 20 points compared with loved gifts.
